What is a Cluster Organization?

A hub for the food and beverage industry, Chicagoland Food & Beverage Network is a new non-profit organization charged with driving inclusive economic growth.

Clusters are interconnected companies and institutions working in the industry which share a specialized infrastructure and talent pool for competitive advantage, and job and wealth creation. Industry clusters exist naturally; a cluster organization enables deliberate, strategic and efficient collaboration. A cluster organization like Chicagoland Food & Beverage Network brings it all together.

We strive to:

  • Increase Efficiency
    • Facilitate cost-sharing (e.g., joint-purchasing)
    • Provide cluster-specific business development
  • Promote Productivity
    • Assess and build the ecosystem of support services (e.g., workforce training)
    • Facilitate commercialization and application of new technologies
  • Facilitate Collaboration
    • Enable firms to strategically connect to each other, to innovation opportunities, and to new markets
  • Attract New Partners and Resources
    • Build connections between firms, academic, philanthropic and government partners
    • Draw new companies and activity to region
